Out west
I am always drawn back to the West. To Vancouver, the vibrant city linking the sea and the mountains, or to Vancouver Island, whose beauty never ceases to amaze me. And in 2012, I finally made it to the wild north, to Whitehorse in the province of Yukon, where I got the chance to explore the the stunning wilderness on horseback. An unforgettable experience!

Yukon – eye to eye with a Grizzly
I had my own little cabin with an outhouse some 25 meters away between the trees, but after seeing this grizzly ambling through the compound a couple of times and since my cabin had no lock, I thought it prudent to move into a bunk bed in the main house. No lock either but at least there were a number of tourists to choose from should the bear get hungry.
