The Rockies

Some people say that Canada looks like Switzerland: lots of mountains. This is certainly the case but that’s where the similarities end. The vegetation is very different, the sheer size of the area of land covered by the Rockies or the fact that apart from a few valleys the Rockies are simply empty wilderness.

My favourite place is Jasper. The town is much more relaxed and laid back than Banff. I also find Jasper much more scenic. It is beautifully situated on the banks of the Athabasca River, which winds through the wide valley surrounded by breathtaking mountain peaks.
